WHAT THIS SITE IS

I've always been the kind of person who asks why.

Why we stay up staring at screens. Why we use jokes to cover trauma. Why movies hit us so hard. Why small moments feel huge.

Some people keep diaries. Some collect postcards. I collect questions: about people, about myself, about the strange and beautiful patterns that make us human.

This corner of the internet is my way of finally speaking. If you want to get to know me, you'll find everything you need to know here.

I want to explore people, culture, emotion, technology, film, trauma, comfort, patterns… all the things that make us who we are. And every question I've ever wanted to ask? It'll probably end up somewhere here.

Think of this as a digital sketchbook or a mosaic: ideas, questions, patterns, movie reviews, and whatever else my brain decides to obsess over.

WHO I AM

Hello, dearest gentle reader, as one Lady Whistledown would say.

I'm Ivona, a 16-year-old Romanian mathematics-informatics student, but in my head I live somewhere between psychology, technology, film, and the chaos of being a teenager in 2025.

Growing up, I was curious but painfully shy. Saying things out loud felt scary, risky, embarrassing. So I turned to writing instead. If I couldn't speak my thoughts, I could shape them on paper. Writing became my way of understanding the world, and honestly, myself too.

I've written about tiny human habits: fidgeting fingers, nervous laughs, the quiet ways we cope and hide, the strange ways stories save us. And I've written fiction too: fights and knights, queens and wanderers, talking animals and singing willows. Different worlds, different tones... but all born from the same place.

Every word I've ever written was one I once wished I could say out loud, a blade I forged to make sense of myself and the world.

I love spotting patterns: in how people act, how we speak, how we sleep (or don't), how we use our phones, how mental health shows up in our lives, how generations shift yet repeat the same stories, how the media we consume shapes who we become, how grief changes a person, and many more.

Right now, I'm learning Python, experimenting with small research projects, and writing essays as I go (and a novel I've been working on for two years, though that one won't see the light of day anytime soon).

HOW TO READ THE WORK HERE

None of this is expert-level, obviously. It's just one curious person figuring things out in public. If the journey turns embarrassing 5 years from now, well... at least it'll be entertaining.

The work here falls into a few loose categories:

Essays — longer, exploratory pieces where I ask "why" and try to find answers
Studies — surveys and research projects
Film & Media — analysis of movies, shows, video games and the stories that shape us
Notes — shorter observations, questions, things I'm still figuring out, maybe upcoming works

I'm starting this blog because writing helps me understand things better, and because I want a space where psychology, tech, culture, film, and overthinking can all exist in one place.

If you're here, welcome! Thank you for stopping by! I'm excited to see where this goes.
